The Efendi Hotel
1,500 Years of History
In 2012, Uri opened the Efendi Hotel. Just a short walk from our restaurant, The Efendi is a boutique property with only 12 rooms, and is considered the most intricate restoration project ever undertaken by a private entrepreneur in the country. With 8.5 years of renovations under its belt, the hotel is built upon 7 layers of Akko’s rich historyץ Each layer is representative of one of Akko’s golden eras, from the time of the Byzantines to this day; 1,500 years of history.
The hotel features an original Crusader-era wine cellar containing a selection of the finest wines of the region, an authentic Turkish hammam from the Ottoman era, luxurious lounge areas, hand-painted wall murals and ceiling frescoes, a spacious balcony and a roof-top overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the Western Galilee, and the enchanting quarter of Old Akko.
